Chase's Family~
I am the 3rd child of 5. The oldest child in my family is my sister (the one and only). Then comes my older brother, me and then my younger brothers who are twins. When the twins were 15, the elder of the two passed away from cancer. This was one of the hardest experiences of my life. But knowledge that families can be eternal transforms pain into excitement.
Every good thing that's come in my life is fundamentally based on what my parents taught me growing up. I hope to be the kind of parent that they were and are to me. They are perfect examples of hard work, integrity, and of family love.
Together, we all had fun growing up. Today we are all still really close, even as we are in our 20's and 30's (sorry sis!). Normally at our ages families begin to distance themselves. Its funny because we still get together to light bottle rockets, play nintendo, and eat ice cream -- all things we did growing up.
I'm pretty sure I have the best family ever.
Joni's Family~
I am the 3rd of 9 children. There are 6 girls and 3 boys. I have a brother and sister who are older than me and the rest are younger. It was a great experience growing up in such a large family. And it taught me many things. I was able to learn how to take care of babies from an early age, how to be more patient, how to share space and possessions, and also how to be a good bossy sister! My parents, John and Jacalyn, are patient and loving and have taught me many many things. Some of the things they taught me were about the importance of being honest, being a hard worker, and the importance of gaining an education. They taught me from the time I was young the importance of faith in Christ and having a testimony of the gospel.
When I was younger we enjoyed many outings together. We visited several different states and even Canada. We went camping and traveling about. Sometimes the car rides got long and crazy especially as more children came, but it was mostly always fun to be together! Now a days we love to play games together and get together for holidays, birthdays, or any other kind of celebrations. We like to cook together, watch movies, doing anything outdoors, and just talking!
I have 2 nieces, going on 3 and 3 nephews going on 4! We are all getting more and more spread out as we are growing older but we still keep in touch. My parents and a few of my siblings, grandparents, and some aunts and uncles all live in the same town so it is fun to all gather back home and be around a lot of family.
They all love and care for each other and are some of my greatest treasures!
